Trump-endorsed pedophile and Republican candidate Roy Moore was soundly defeated by Democrat Doug Jones tonight in the Alabama Senate special election. A Democrat hasn’t held the seat since 1992.
The victory was a much-needed reminder that America hasn’t turned permanently towards darkness, which is a foreboding feeling that many Americans have been unable to shake since sexual predator, conman, and abject ignoramus Donald Trump slithered into the Oval Office.
Tonight is a win for liberalism, decency, and the United States as a whole. Americans from all walks of life, all across the country are celebrating this moment. Beloved actor Ron Perlman, of Sons of Anarchy fame is no exception. Perlman has been an outspoken critic of Trump and all his seedy simulacrums, and he’s thrilled about the win.
The actor said that the country has been submerged in darkness since Trump (who Perlman not unfairly refers to as a scumbag) infamously rode down an elevator to announce his candidacy.
The success of Trump inspired all manner of sinister, conservative, regressive creatures to emerge from their dark corners, but tonight’s Democratic win represented a return to the light. The actor warns the “cockroaches” that their days are numbered. Perlman tweeted:
A scumbag comes down an escalator with racism oozing, the lights go off for a time and ALL the cockroaches come out. Well, muthafuckas, the lights are back on! Scurry as you may, you’re days are numbered!

And, as a quick refresher, here’s the moronic moment Perlman was referring to:
Perlman, clearly amped on on the Doug Jones win, also retweeted some great messages:
This is Patricia Gaines, whose father, a liberal minister, was driven out of Selma in 1961 by Klansmen on horseback. She went back to Selma for the first time today to drive black voters to the polls. pic.twitter.com/A6q8JDtDg9

#coalition of the decent. It is powerful, strong and everywhere in this country. Trumpism and Bannonism will wind up on the “ash heap of history” 2018 is upon us and it will be a momentous year. Paul Ryan and Mitch should start collecting moving boxes.

Every American should celebrate tonight’s win, but we must stay vigilant and maintain the momentum. It’s crucial that Democrats show up en mass in the 2018 midterms to seize back control of Congress, and then again in 2020 to oust Trump from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Tonight represents as brilliant, thrilling, single step down the road towards ultimate victory, but it’s still but a single step. We must continue to spread the word, fight, and most importantly vote until we’ve taken back our country.
