Trump Jr.’s Response To The FCC’s Net Neutrality Vote May Be His Dumbest Tweet Yet

In a betrayal to the will of the American people, the Republican-led Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted this morning to scrap net neutrality regulations ensuring that Americans have access to a free and open internet.

The move was widely condemned by Americans on both sides of the aisle. A staggering 83 percent of Americans polled supported keeping the Obama-era net neutrality rules in place. That did not stop any of the Republican members of the FCC from subverting Americans’ overwhelming opposition in this morning’s vote.

This morning’s move has effectively neutered regulations that prohibited internet service providers from blocking websites, throttling speeds, or charging premiums for certain content. The commission’s chairman, Ajit Pai, has defended the rollback by defiantly claiming that it would “promote competition.”

Right on cue, Trump’s eldest son – and a guaranteed source of inane drivel on the internet – Donald Trump Jr., took to Twitter to castigate Democrats who decried the FCC’s decision– and humiliated himself in the process.

Notwithstanding his typo-riddled tweet, while Trump Jr. attempted to lay the blame on Obama, it was his father who actually appointed Ajit Pai as Chairman of the FCC. Obama’s FCC Chairman was Tom Wheeler, a Democrat.

Twitter, of course, noticed.

  • Trump Jr.’s a chode, and this tweet was enormously stupid, but pointing it out as “typo-ridden” when he just left out a single letter comes off as super petty, and does nothing to help the point. (Especially when there’s a typo in this website’s name down in the footer, which you should really click to add navigation to.)
