A Congressman just responded to Trump’s FBI tweet with a devastating question

After President Trump attacked FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe on Twitter earlier today, Congressman Ted Lieu (D-CA) felt forced to jump in and call Trump out on his blatant hypocrisy.

Trump tweeted about the Deputy Director after McCabe testified in front of the House Intelligence Committee earlier this week and confirmed the account that his former boss, fired FBI Director James Comey, gave about the President demanding a loyalty oath from him.

When Representative Lieu saw the tweet his blood boiled with outrage at the partisan double standard being applied by Trump to FBI employees, with negative accusations being launched at anyone closely associated with Comey or the FBI’s investigation into Trump’s suspiciously intertwined business and political interests with Russia.

Luckily Congressman Lieu had the info to deliver a knockout rejoinder to Trump’s inaccurate insinuation about McCabe. (For the record, Politifact.com rates Trump’s accusations against McCabe as “Mostly False”.)

By this point, pretty much everyone is aware of Trump’s complete ignorance of the U.S. Constitution, or at least his willful disregard for its protections. It’s a pleasure to see Ted Lieu calling the President out on his petty partisan attacks as Trump unsuccessfully tries to cover his keister with cunningly clever misdirection.

That anyone pays attention to a word he says (or tweets) at this point is a baffling phenomenon, given that everything he says or does is so clearly aimed at self-preservation as Mueller’s investigation rolls on and uncovers the hidden secrets Trump so badly wants to keep from public view.
